The First
Alumni Congress

The First QLF Alumni Congress was held in April 2006. This four-day gathering of 200 Alumni and partner organizations representing 30 nations began in Budapest and continued with a Stewardship Workshop and special presentations in Kiskunság National Park, Hungary. Former Ambassador to Hungary, George H. Walker hosted the Congress and, together with Embassy staff and dignitaries, was instrumental in the planning and success of the Congress.

The Congress was an historic event and the first gathering to convene QLF Alumni and partner organizations from the Atlantic Region (New England and Atlantic Canada); Western Europe, Central and Southeast Europe; Latin America and the Caribbean; and the Middle East.  Other participants included QLF Trustees U.S., QLF Directors Canada, Members of the QLF Corporation, funders, staff, and dignitaries representing each QLF region.
