QLF Alumni of biodiversity conservation and leadership programs

For more than six decades, QLF has quietly built a highly engaged, professional network of over 5,000 Alumni worldwide. QLF Alumni are former Interns, community Volunteers, International Fellows, Scholarship recipients, and Fellow of the Sounds Conservancy Marine Conservation Program. They hail from more than 100 countries across six regions: Atlantic Region: New England & Eastern Canada, Europe, Latin America & the Caribbean, Middle East, North Africa & Gulf States, East & Southeast Asia.

The first Alumni Congress was held in 2006 in Budapest, Hungary. It was followed 10 years later by one in Barcelona, Catalonia. Unified by the shared values that initially drew them to QLF, Alumni continue to demonstrate a common commitment to the community-based, intercultural model for conservation and stewardship that QLF champions.

Conservation Internships in Atlantic Region

As QLF’s flagship program, the Conservation Internship Program embodies the organization’s core mission and aspirations. Through the leadership program, QLF nurtures and provides university undergraduate and graduate students with hands-on experience in community-based conservation, environmental education, and nonprofit program development. The acquired knowledge and skills enable them to guide decision-making that protects the natural environment while maintaining vibrant, sustainable communities.

International Exchange Program

For over 40 years, QLF’s Conservation Exchange Programs have facilitated the cross-border exchange of knowledge, experience, and innovative solutions, promoting international collaboration among organizations and individuals facing shared environmental and stewardship challenges.

These programs welcomed international fellows and focused on migratory bird conservation, forest stewardship, protected area management, private land conservation, wildlife protection, consensus building, environmental conflict resolution, and collaborative marine management.
